“It truly meant a lot to us, you guys did a fantastic job.” – Sgt. Young, Operation Homefront
Employees have given their time and energy when members of the community need help and support. For example, in the fall of 2012 eight employees under the auspices of Operation Homefront donated their time to assist Sergeant Jason W. Young with the restoration and reconstruction of the exterior of his house and yard. Sergeant Young was an active-duty marine living in Temecula with his wife and two children and stationed at Camp Pendleton. He had twice deployed to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. After the work was completed, Sgt. Young wrote, “It truly meant a lot us, you guys did a fantastic job.”
The Company has also provided college students studying engineering and construction management an opportunity for on-the-job experiences. For example, California State University, Long Beach students were recently provided an opportunity for a job walk on both our River Supply Conduit—Unit 4 project and our Expo 2 project. Arnulfo Nuno, a civil engineering major, said his job walk gave him an opportunity to see everyone’s role in the project and to observe the critical role of the project manager.
