Work Performed: Rados installed a fourth siphon along the Hetch Hetchy regional water system to provide redundancy in the event of a major seismic event. The project consisted of approximately 6,000LF of 66” welded steel pipe replacement, cross over valve structures with isolation and throttling valves. Also included was the construction of a 96” diameter blending structure, improvements to the Alameda East Portal, along with the construction of a chemical injection system at Siphon #4, and the improvement of the access road into the Alameda East Portal site.
