Rados Awarded Contract to Retrofit First Street Viaduct Over Glendale Blvd
Job 721 – First Street Viaduct over Glendale Boulevard for the City of Los Angeles – Department of Public Works – Bureau of Engineering
On June 2, 2017 the City of Los Angeles awarded the First Street Viaduct over Glendale Boulevard project to Steve P. Rados, Inc. On February 22, 2017 Rados submitted a bid of $10,761,950 for the project and was the lowest of four bids submitted. This project involves the minor widening and seismic retrofit of this five span structure over portions of Glendale Boulevard and Second Street. The project is scheduled to be completed within about 39 months after Notice to Proceed. The work involves partial demolition and reconstruction of the bridge overhangs (widening the bridge by about 2-1/2 feet on each side). Also included is the seismic retrofit of portions of the substructure, rebuilding bridge approach retaining walls, new bridge lighting, etc.
